My maternal grandfather, Nicolo Disparti, a farmer from Lercara Friddi, Sicily, and my paternal grandfather, Joseph Nasca, a liveryman from Cerda, Sicily, decided to seek a better life for themselves and their family by relocating to America in the late 1890s.
