Luis, also known as the Penon, is a young man who is fixated on the lives of successful North American celebrities and people. Despite his best friend's advice to remain in his home country and grow there, Luis convinces his parents to send him to study in the first world, with the intention of returning home to use his new skills to make a better life for himself.
