She shares many different mothering titles; biological, step, foster, and adoptive. Her husband owns a small business and Candice spends her time as a homemaker. She wrote this story based on her son she adopted from foster care. This is a childhood dream of hers to write a children's book. Her favorite saying is, "Things that matter are hard."
