Two years after resolving a mysterious disappearance, Miss Manorma Guhathakurta thought her career as a self-proclaimed amateur sleuth over. One day, she, along with the entire populace of the town of Limley, receives an invitation from a new local resident to attend a ball at his dwelling: a certain Moss House. Nothing seems out of the ordinary at first, until the festivities take a turn for the sinister, with Moss House becoming the scene of a shocking crime. Predictably, the curious and quick-witted Manorma takes it upon herself to get to the bottom of things.
