This story is about a family of three Ducks and two Ducklings who are separated in a heavy rainstorm. The two Ducklings being weaker swimmers are swept away from the family in the heavy storm. This story is an experience in which Mama Duck instills in her children lessons she knows from her lifetime as a Duck. Mama teaches the children the lessons of order, strength and persistence. They also learn how to cope with possible life changing circumstances. When the Ducklings get lost, they understand they need to follow the lessons they learned in order to survive until they are reconnected to the rest of their family.
