The USCGC Courier (WTR-410) served as a mobile barracks and operational training platform for training Coast Guard Reserves from 1966 to 1972. The Courier supported various Port Security Unites training at major ports on the East coast, Gulf of Mexico, and the Great Lakes. Before training Reservist, the Courier was stationed in Roads, Greece from July 1952 to August 1964. The ship was fitted with a high-powered transmitter and operated as a relay station for "Voice of America."
