Padayon, means to "carry on" in Cebuano, a language in Philippines. It is a memoir of the author's parents, Engr. Doroteo "Dodo" Monte de Ramos Salazar and Mrs. Zenaida "Naiding" Figuracion Salazar. Starting with a narration of the sudden and tragic death of her dad, the author writes introspectively about the painful experience about losing a dad, the pillar of their family. It continues with the abrupt turn-over of the businesses to the immediate heirs, his children. The rest of the book describes the family's modest business and family beginnings including local and foreign travels. In 1983, the couple founded Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology, SCSIT, a school for the poor and marginalized. It was originally named Salcon Institute of Technology. Accepting the plea of the folks of Madridejos, Cebu, the couple entered politics, risking their lives just to make the community a better place to live in.
