Charles Oren Mashburn was a visionary In God's ministry for 69 years. He strived to achieve what had never been accomplished before in revival meetings and Bible studies by introducing his wide screen Scriptavista films of the Bible Lands and international mission work to bring alive the Word of God to those in attendance.
This native of Gadsden, Alabama escaped death twice to have an international ministry and reach the lost. As an evangelist, author, professor, and photographer, he travelled in 110 countries, holding evangelistic meetings in many of them. He made four mission trips around the world and 38 visits to the Holy Land. During this time he traveled 1,000,000,000 miles by plane, boat, car, and on foot in every country and island visited by Jesus and the Apostle Paul and most of the lands of the Old Testament. He served as a writer and representative of World Vision under the guidance of Bob Pierce.
After serving as a fellow professor at Golden Gate Seminary, Dr. Mashburn pastored churches in California and Tennessee. While on faculty at Tennessee Temple University, he authored I Sing of Thee, the biography of writer-evangelist Charles Weigle, writer of "No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus," and A Disciple Called Timothy, the life of Dr. Timothy Dzao.
This book shares the perseverance and unusual story of one man's quest from humble origins to reach the lost throughout the world.
