Richard Camardo lived a life filled with immense satisfaction, including a joyful 42-year marriage to the love of his life, three children, two grandchildren, and numerous successful business ventures. However, on September 18, 2018, a fall in his home altered his life forever in just a matter of seconds. At first, the fall seemed to result in only a minor injury. But a week later, the loss of certain faculties revealed it to be far more severe. In the early years, amidst countless visits with neurologists, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists and a renowned brain center, Rick documented his emotions and experiences in journals that eventually inspired the creation of his book, "Paint a Picture".

With the continuous encouragement of his family and a deep love for poetry, Rick curated a collection of poems and reflections that he felt best encapsulated the tremendous struggles brought on by his traumatic brain injury (TBI). Over the course of nearly two years, Rick worked to complete his story, hoping this compilation would inspire others navigating the challenges of TBI recovery.
