Billy and the Magical Microphone

In Billy and the Magical Microphone, readers embark on a meaningful exploration of grief as guided by a magical microphone. This enchanted device serves as a guiding light, leading Billy through the labyrinth of his sadness to discover the reservoir of joyful memories he shared with his cousin. As the story unfolds, readers are invited to join Billy on his grief journey, witnessing his emotional struggles and triumphs. I chose to write this book to honor my cousin, Norel, who was more than a civil engineer, he was also a rapper and a poet. I consider my academic strengths to be STEM-related, but wanted to create a tribute that represents the way he lived. In addition to offering peace and hope to young readers dealing with their own experiences of loss, this book is a way for me to be a part of Norel's artistic legacy.

Billy and the Magical Microphone is not just a story; it demonstrates the resilience of youth, the healing power of remembrance and the beauty of finding light in dark times. I hope that this story will serve as a blanket of comfort and source of inspiration to all who read it, reminding them that even in grief, there is always hope waiting to be revealed.
