When 4-year-old Sidney hears his parents say that they'll take him to Ghana sometime so he can see his roots, he sets out on a journey to understand what they mean. Do our roots grow out of our feet like roots of a tree? Sidney soon learns that roots don't grow out of our feet, they're inside of us! Roots aren't something you can see, but something you are and can learn about through storytelling and tradition. Through his quest to find his roots, Sidney learns he is a beautiful mixture of cultures and traditions that stretches to every corner of the Earth.
