When Muses Die

The book "When Muses Die" includes 56 poems and 44 handmade drawings. Every poem, every drawing is created at a different moment of my life. Probably, by looking at my drawings, you'll understand, that I am inspired by paganism symbolism, Greek mythology, Lithuanian folk art. I really like very small details, coded thoughts. Every drawing has a secret meaning, hidden in symbols. I hear words about my arts often: "It is not enough just a glimpse to understand (to see) Gabriele's drawings." It's absolute true. It takes more than a look to see that I'm trying to tell in my story (drawing). Every person needs to see it through their own prism. Every time you look, you'll see something you didn't see before. I love "wow factor" a lot. Some of my drawings are uncomfortable and a little bit shocking. We all have two sides of us: good and bad. The Good and Evil are very popular phenomena in my work. The recurring themes include birth, newborns, women's sexuality, and, also, "mandala" motive, which has followed me for more than a decade. This collection of drawings and poetry "When Muses Die" is a long awaited project. I took me 3 years to create this book. It includes 56 poems and 44 illustrations. I have always felt that I draw in "lyrics". When feelings and emotions don't fit inside me, I simply create. This book is Me. I am so happy that my inside has got a body, not only a soul.
