One day two chickens, Patty and Pearl, wonder what it would be like to get "out of the coop." Their wish to explore and make friends leads to fun and frolic on main street. What would you do if you saw chickens crossing a busy street or peeking in your shop window? Would you honk your horn or stop to say hello? Out of the Coop is based on the true story of free range chickens in downtown Pittsboro, North Carolina. The adorable and very friendly chickens get into mischief with shop owners and traffic. The story is brought to life by fantastic illustrations by Sergio Drumond. This story would be a great read for fans of animal themed picture books.
