Although written and illustrated like a children's book, it does touch on the deeper themes of what any family in that situation goes through. Also included is lingo/medical terms from the NICU since that was this family's vocabulary for the four months they "lived" there.

This is the story of a little girl born with an unrepairable heart defect. Using a rhyming "children's book" style, it takes the reader through the time spent in the NICU as well as the lasting impact she had on multiple lives. Its goal, on top of telling Kinley's story and keeping her memory alive, is to show others going through similar situations that they're not alone and help put some positive context on a difficult situation.
