INT. HOLY HOUSE, LORETO - NIGHT
The Holy House is bathed in the soft
glow of a single candle. St. Luke, his
face etched with reverence, works on
his canvas. The scene now depicts a
humble stable in Bethlehem. Mary,
radiating a peaceful joy, gazes down at
the infant Jesus, cradled in a manger.
Joseph, his features reflecting
tenderness and protection, kneels
nearby.
ST. LUKE
The Nativity... the birth of the King of Kings, in
utter humility.
He meticulously paints the details of
the scene the straw in the manger, the
soft folds of Mary's robe, the gentle
curve of the infant Jesus's hand.ST. LUKE
And the glory of God shone around them.
He adds a subtle glow around the Holy
Family, a celestial light emanating
from the divine child. The colors are
rich and deep, conveying a sense of awe
and reverence.
ST. LUKE
A stable... yet the dwelling place of the eternal
God.
He pauses, his brush still, his gaze
fixed on the painting. He seems lost in
contemplation, his heart overflowing
with emotion.
ST. LUKE
The shepherds, guided by angels, witnessed the
wonder...
He begins to sketch in the figures of
the shepherds, their faces awestruck,
kneeling before the Christ child. Their
simple robes contrast with the ethereal
glow surrounding Mary and Joseph.
ST. LUKE
...and the wise men, following the star, brought
gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
He adds the Three Wise Men, their
exotic attire and the glimmer of their
gifts adding a touch of regal splendor
to the humble scene. He carefully
paints the expressions of profound
adoration on their faces.
ST. LUKE
Emmanuel... God with us.He steps back, his eyes welling with
tears. The painting radiates a profound
sense of peace and joy, a celestial
light illuminating the divine mystery
of the Incarnation.
ST. LUKE
(whispering)
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
goodwill toward men.
He gently touches the canvas, his hand
lingering on the face of the infant
Jesus. A single tear traces a path down
his cheek.
FADE OUT.
