I have written this book with a heartfelt desire to uplift and inspire you. It is also my intention to share with others the profound impact that self-reflection can have on our lives, and how it can lead us to a deeper understanding of ourselves. You see, self-reflection serves as a valuable tool on our journey of life in which our choices and there outcomes work in tandem to build and mature our minds so that we may embrace, understand, and know how to apply the wisdom found within the lesson when reflecting back over our lives. Moreover, this level of maturity can only be attained when we are first willing to be honest with ourselves. See, in our moments of reflection, it is crucial that we approach our past mistakes with candor, while at the same time maintaining a positive mindset so that our purpose of reflecting will not be consumed by our guilts and shames but rather by the knowledge and understanding found within them.
When we allow negativity to dominate our thoughts during the process of self-reflection it can hinder our progress and render us unproductive. We must recognize that an idle mind is a breeding ground for destructive forces and oftentimes, we find ourselves in this idle state because we succumb to the fear attached to those thoughts. Fear obstructs our ability to discern between guilt and shame, which originates from the evil one, while conviction, which is a divine call from the Lord.
