What do you do when you've been given an impossible task, but it's the only way to achieve your lifelong dream?
That was what Tucker, a knight in training, was given by the Oracle to become a full-blown knight of the kingdom. What is that task, you may ask? Well, he was supposed to bring back the head of the dragon's daughter. But the last dragon was slayed by his grandfather years and years ago, long before Tucker was born. Or so everybody thought. When Tucker does get word that a dragon is living high up a mountain overlooking a tiny village, it's been protecting, and the beast does indeed have a daughter, Tucker can't believe his good luck. This ought to be a piece of cake; he was a deadly warrior, after all.
But the girl he meets outside the cave, a maid from the village, isn't who he thinks she is. It turns out that Rue, a lovely red-headed girl of nearly a hundred years, is the dragon's adopted daughter and the only female wizard in the kingdom. Shocked, life gets a hundred percent more complicated when the dragon in question isn't a simple beast but an immensely ancient being tricks both Tucker and his own daughter Rue into getting married. Wizards vows are binding and unbreakable, making until death do us part a whole new level of permant.
Angry and confused, the newlywedded couple embarks on a journey with a giant green dragon in tow across the country back to the capital to figure out just what has been going on up there. They are intent on straightening out all this miscommunication. Along the way, they pick up a pliandering bard and stumble across a few other setbacks before getting where they're trying to go.
How will Tucker and Rue navigate holy matrimony with a horny bard and a nosy dragon as they traipse across the countryside, leaking magic and mischief with every step? You'll have to read to find out in this quirky, heartwarming enemies to loves with a sweet, if frustrated, Himbo story.
