Linda McFerren is a retired English and special education teacher. A gifted storyteller, Linda has taught in the San Francisco Bay Area, Southern Oregon, and Tanzania, East Africa. In Nairobi, Kenya she had the opportunity to be kissed by a giraffe. "The tongue felt like sandpaper, but what did I expect from an animal whose tongue strips leaves off acacia trees?"
Illustrator Lauretta Jenkins was an artist whose drawings were used on educational television. She lived on a small ranch in Northern California where she tended to her chickens, ducks, goats and horses.
