The story of what happened to Charles Gray, aka GRAY, when he was passing through Holbrook, Arizona, in the late 1800s. Gray is a fast-draw gunslinger who can sense what his opponent is going to do before his opponent does. Gray is from Missouri by way of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. In some locations along the way, the local law has asked Gray to help settle disputes.

Gray has gained a reputation as a killer. However, having to use his guns has always been a last resort. He has never been a paid gunman. Gray also meets the love of his life in Holbrook.
