A place where one could hear the newest gossip, current events or just 'hang out and listen to the jukebox and have a soda' with the next generation. War, the Depression, significant inventions and innovations of the Industrial Revolution brought about many cultural changes. Diners, however, continued to be an integral part of communities and rural America for decades to come. Many Forever Friends and Forever Loves developed in Diners and some spanned decades.
