We come from all the countries of America, but we form one family in Christ. We are united by our faith, and we are united by Our Lady of Guadalupe: The Patroness of the Americas. As human beings, made in the image and likeness of God, we have a great dignity and a great destiny. As we move through life, we must stay close to God and practice our faith, so that by keeping God's commandments and doing His will, we may receive our reward of eternal life in Heaven. This catechism, adapted with permission from the original catechism of the parish of San Pedro in Monsefu, in the diocese of Chiclayo, Peru, is a brief summary of our Catholic faith, which is designed to help us draw closer to God in our lives of faith on Earth, so that one day we can enjoy eternal life with God in Heaven.
