Twelve-year-old Jasper Berry is a time traveler. He learns this while being rescued in the middle of the night by Fletcher, and old friend of his long-lost parents. Fletcher shares with Jasper about the evil Krylios Clan, who protects time travelers in exchange for using their skills to enrich himself. Jasper, as it turns out, grows up to be the one who destroys the evil Krylios and his enforcer, Hayalet. Thus, the remnants of the Krylios Clan have come back in time to tonight, when Jasper is just a boy, to kill him and end his story before it even starts.

However, the apparent rescue plan is to send Jasper forty years into the past to a younger Fletcher, who has no idea who Jasper is! Though helped by a team of time travelers to stay out of the grips of the mighty Hayalet, Jasper thinks he may be able to solve this mystery on his own.
