My name is Blue. I am a Great Blue Heron and this story is about me. Let me start from the beginning.
One March morning, my father flew to a large group of trees. Some were very tall. He was looking for a place where I could hatch! Other Great Blue Herons were looking for just the right place too! You see, the nests were in the trees from the year before. They needed to be cleaned up and many more sticks needed to be added to make them strong enough to hold a whole family.
