Photographer Jane Moorman discovered a restored Techatticup mining town during her travels in Nevada. With her natural curiosity she explored the area that was originally mined in the mid-1880s. Join her in this exploration through the property now owned by Tony and Bobbie Werly.
The history of the area extends back to the Spaniards discovering gold in 1775 in the area they called El Dorado. With the discovery of gold in western United States, prospectors revived the Spanish mines. During the next 40 years the area produced $5 million worth of gold, silver, copper, and lead. The Techatticup Mine was the largest and most productive in the Colorado Mining District.
