Darla's life started out rocky when she was ripped from her mother's arms at two years old and put into foster care because her mother was heavily wrapped up in drugs and alcohol and could not be a mother. When she was adopted at age 6, she thought everything would be smooth sailing from then on out. She was mistaken.

The parents who adopted her were very strict, and the father had a hot temper that left scars that haunted her throughout her childhood.

In this book, Darla walks you through some of the abuse she faced as a child, how she coped with it, and the long-term effects one faces when one feels abandoned and alone. From times of rebellion and self-destruction to deep despair, she tells her whole story to the world in the hope of bringing light and hope into the lives of other women who share her experiences.
