A fear of the dark is natural. It was pasted down to us by our ancestors. Those who learned to be weary of unseen dangers, lived to pass along their genes. Those who did not, fell prey to threats that were masked by the shadow. The Old taught the Young these lessons as cautionary tales. They became so ingrained in our blood, that children are born with a fear of the dark as an instinct. They gravitate towards light without understanding the reasoning. It is a desire that develops before the truth can fully be understood. It is not truly the darkness we should fear, but what could be lurking in it. It is such a shared belief that the terms: Dark and Light, have become synonymous with Evil and Good respectively. How ironic it is that now Humanity must take refuge in the Dark, to hide from the Monsters that walk in the Light.
