This is the first part of a continuing series, about a boys' journey to gurlhood. Starts late August 1974, when our 9 years young heroine, Melvin, receives some bad news, but his sister has a plan, and that is where our story begins. Mel does meet some new friends, but also is subjected to some bad negativity, including some violence, hatred and discrimination too. Every character is based on someone I knew at age 9, and is based on how I wish my life had been, had I had the balls (Sorry, Pun Intended) to tell my father.
