Nurse Aggie Burnside and her doctor fiance are busy building the medical practice in Western Massachusetts when they are asked to serve on a committee creating a new college. Thinking this could enhance their network, they jump in and soon find themselves in the middle of factions who want them to take a side.

Before they can back away from the turmoil, one of the Board members dies in a local hotel room. And he wasn't with his wife when it happened. The autopsy discovers foul play but that doesn't narrow down the suspects especially when a spiritual reading with the medium muddies the waters.
