Okiwa is a humble and peaceful coffee cart owner. Amidst an invasion from a neighboring island he struggles to maintain his life and buisness. In doing so he is forced to travel a path set forth for him by fate rather than choose a direction for himself. There are no happy endings here for in life there are only trials and choices. Perspectives of others ordeals are contrasted and their choices in how to deal in such an enviroment are met with similar fates and yet the reward is seen on the road traveled and not the outcome.
