Ocean's night flights is the story of a young lesbian cinema manager and her experience of the unknown. Told from her Point of View, mostly; while aspects of the story might be classified as paranormal, I have chosen not to make any strong claims about the paranormal, whether true or not, I will leave that up to the reader. Her experience with the paranormal began when she was eight - on the night of her ninth birthday. She had viewed these events as powerful dreams and not as real events.

While watching TV one night with her partner, Jacinta, she sees a News segment about a crime, allegedly happening in a large city more than a thousand kilometres from where she had been on the night of the murder. A panic began to rise in her chest. Also, a feeling of dejavu washed over her as she realised her dreams may not be dreams, after all, but something weird and personal - she 'dreamed' the murder the night it happened.

She discussed her dreams with Jacinta and hopes she won't react the same way her previous partners did and dumped her. Doing this will make her vulnerable, but she is compelled to do this - in case the thing really did happen - the police coming round brandishing a photograph of the suspect: her. But Jacinta's response, at first, wasn't the one she'd expected - Jacinta laughing it off as if she'd heard a joke; implying Ocean simply had a strange turn or something. Her fear that 'the evidence' would prove she had been there would tip Jacinta over the edge, and it did. She distanced herself at first, then left her.
