Hope is a recently widowed woman. Both her and her daughter are taken in by one of the town's elders. She's made welcome there but the oldest son Matthew isn't so happy about the living arrangement. He doesn't have the highest opinion of Hope, whom he thinks has a sketchy side. He also has eyes for Sarah but Hope begins telling everyone that she and Matthew are an item. Can he convinced those around him that he and Hope are not a couple and that he has eyes only for Sarah?
