Newly single after having been dumped at the airport, romance novelist Maggie Miller decides to depart on her romantic couples' getaway anyway. It had been far too long since she'd had a vacation, and this one was free. The tourist season wasn't underway yet, so she had planned to ride out the next ten days virtually undetected.
