Every city has a dark side... but some are darker than others.

Finn Delaney hasn't been long in his latest role as a private detective. While he'd always hoped to stumble upon a genuine mystery to be unraveled, it isn't long before he finds himself far, far beyond his depth, and placing himself in a level of danger he'd never imagined. A murder case, unsolved for two long and agonizing years, leads him into an underworld of ritualistic evil, occultism, and Satanic darkness, operating in the murky depths of New York City and spreading its eldritch influence like a virus through the shadowed backstreets.

Despite being in over his head in ways he's never been before, Finn Delaney isn't alone on the case. His wise-cracking best friend is in tow, but even the comic relief he provides can't help but be overcome by the essence of evil, seeping from every twist and turn this malicious and disturbing conundrum continually throws in their path. It doesn't help that amid the insanity, and despite the occult rituals and supposed demonic possession at the heart of a gruesome murder, Finn Delaney knows that to solve the case isn't just a matter of ensuring that justice is served; it's a matter of proving his self-worth after years of second-guessing and doubt.

As the mysteries and madness unravel around him and threaten his own sanity, a man is accused, a mother is certain of her son's innocence, and Finn Delaney has demons of his own to wrestle with. The spider's web tightens, plots grow thicker and darker by the second, and the clock is ticking before clues tumble like a house of cards.
