Orson Kincaid is a battle-hardened sniper for US Army Special Operations Command. During a demanding overseas assignment, his team gets compromised and overwhelmed. Wounded and on his own, Kincaid flees to a nearby village where two Mormon missionaries agree to hide him in their apartment while the enemy desperately searches for him. While hiding out, he learns more about the missionaries' faith, and his religious prejudices soon soften his heart toward Christianity in general and specifically toward the Mormon religion. Seeking a lifestyle change, Kincaid leaves the military, joins the LDS church, and gets hired by Church Security in Salt Lake City, hoping for a new and quiet career. Before long, a domestic terrorist group identifies the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a soft or easy target and develops plans to attack a temple of the LDS church and kill several highly placed church leaders. Kincaid discovers he alone has the counter-terrorism experience necessary to protect his new religion. Determined to thwart the terrorist plans, he is forced to muster skills to stop them, which he wanted to leave behind. Is it a coincidence that Kincaid is there at this time? Or is it the grace of God that has placed him there now to stop this threat to the church? After retiring 10 yrs. later, Kincaid is employed with the Mormon Church Security and is the only employee who has any experience dealing with terrorists. Before long, a warning is issued that a domestic terrorist group within Salt Lake City, Utah, desperately wants to be recognized as a threat to the world terrorist groups. They believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would make an excellent beginning to their reputation. They start developing plans to attack a temple of the LDS church and kill as many of its leaders as possible. Determined to keep them from destroying the embodiment of his new faith, he musters all of his past experience to stop the terrorists.
