Suubi is an American boy with Ugandan heritage who lives with his mother in Harlem, New York. This story was inspired by his unforgettable visit to a wildlife conservation center in Uganda, where he formed close connections with many of the animal friends featured in this book. About the Author

Sophia Jingo is a Ugandan-American living in New York. She frequently travels back to Uganda with her son, Suubi, to visit family and ensure he stays connected to his vibrant cultural heritage.

In this delightful tale, Sophia brings to life the vibrant landscapes of Uganda and the unique friendships formed during a safari adventure. Through Suubi's eyes young readers discover the beauty of wildlife and the importance of friendship, courage and conservation.
