This book provides insightful knowledge through short stories about twelve interesting people in history. Each chapter is dedicated to an individual and their unique journey as it unfolded. I have tried to capture the essence of these famous people by drawing on defining aspects of their lives. I believe I was successful, but ultimately, that will be up to you to decide.
It is fascinating to study these individuals. Some performed well under intense pressure, while others self-destructed and plunged into the darkness. Several survived unthinkable circumstances, and one carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. Some are kind and believe in helping their fellow man, while others are contradictory, vindictive, and Machiavellian. A few struggled in the shadows of influential family members, while others failed to live up to the ideals they once championed.
One thing is certain: every event in history sets off a chain reaction leading us to where we are now. History can be messy; we like to think of our heroes as perfect, incapable of disappointing us, but we know that is not true. We hunger to relate to our heroes and sometimes wish we could go back in history and save them-from death and, in some cases, from themselves.
