A dreamer, pioneer, educator, pastor, headmaster, and entrepreneur are just a few roles to describe the beautiful life and person of Indiana's First African American Teacher of the Year, Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood. He is affectionately known as the Father of Possibleology(R) and Possibility Education Awareness. He has a proven track record of developing global leaders to discover their limitless possibilities placed in them by GOD. In 1977, Dr. Oscar Nelson Dowdell-Underwood became Indiana's first African American Teacher of the year. In addition, in 1977, he was nominated for National Teacher of the Year, 1999 Indiana Businessman of the Year, and 2018 Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction, among many other honors. In 1998, he appeared before the United States Congressional Committee on Small Businesses to testify concerning his teaching methods and philosophy.
