This book follows the stories of six diverse teenagers, friends since kindergarten, who begin to grow apart as they start high school, but find their friendships being renewed as they help each other solve problems. Despite their differences, these bonds of friendship are so strong that they are willing to risk their lives to save one of their own. "We Got Your Back: A Dynamite Six Saga" was inspired by a group of real life children, but that's where the similarity ends. Although the characters and their stories are completely fictional, the scenarios have been plucked out of life and can be very real for some young people. Parent separation, the death of a parent, alcoholism, and being in the Witness Protection Program (WITSEC) are some of the issues these six friends face, but they are far from being the most significant and dangerous. Stories are presented in real, and at times raw, ways, because life is sometimes raw. But life is not all gloom and doom, so you'll find budding romance, baseball, car racing, dogs, partying, and humor to counteract the seriousness found between these pages. This book has something for everyone. In addition, it provides readers with resources should they find themselves in difficult situations.
