During Jesus' earthly ministry he performed miracles by speaking, commanding, and
touching people. He transformed thousands of lives. Jesus' twenty-six healing miracles were
documented by eyewitnesses in the four synoptic gospels, with Mark recording the most
detailed documentation of the healing miracles.
The passion and mission of Jesus' healing ministry is beautifully outlined in Matthew 9:35-
38NKJV. It states, "Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues,
preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the
people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because
they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Therefore pray the Lord of the
harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
The documented accounts of Jesus' healing ministry represent only a fraction of the great
numbers of people who Jesus healed and set free. John 21:25NKJV captures it best by stating,
"And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I
suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written."
The twenty-six miracles of Jesus that were recorded in the New Testament serve two specific
purposes. First, Jesus wanted people free from the curse of sickness and disease. Second,
Jesus wanted to demonstrate he was the son of man and son of God.
The purpose of this book is to help you connect with the same Jesus who supernaturally
healed during that time, and is still the healer today.
