The Tree of Stories tells the story of a girl and her father who live in a bookstore. Every evening, her father goes to the attic of the bookstore to write the night's new story. One night she waits and waits for the story. Finally, she goes up to the attic, looking for her father. Her search leads her through a light-filled crawlspace. Following the light, she enters the Tree of Stories.
