The Lonely Little Flower is a multicultural picture book for young children. It is about a little flower that doesn't feel like she fits in. She is dark purple and all the other flowers that she meets are different than her. When the little flower decides to accept and love herself and just enjoy life, others really notice her for the first time. She is accepted and even celebrated for who she is. My story uses colorful flowers as a lighthearted metaphor. It explains to children that even though we are all different, we all have something that makes us special. It emphasizes acceptance, self-love and celebrating our differences.
