After migrating to the United States at a young age with her mother through marriage, Sequoia soon finds out her once happy life was about to be turned upside down. After the death of her step father, Sequoia and her mother went on the run and were left to fend for themselves on the streets. Just when Sequoia thought things could not get worse, her mother dies and she is left alone in a life of poverty.
Despite her setbacks, Sequoia is determined to survive and so she manages to get a job and there she meets a few friends who became like family but as usual, her happiness never lasted long and she ended up experiencing yet another loss.
She unexpectedly meets a love interest who happens to be a very handsome billionaire but he is full of secrets just like Sequoia and when both their secrets collide, heartbreak, betrayal and jealousy erupts .
Her life is once again thrown into a turmoil and she finds herself on the run again. While she is fighting for her survival and running from her horrid past, she meets a few strangers on the way and makes a positive impact on their lives. But the more she tries to run, trouble keeps following her and eventually it catches up to her. Will Sequoia be able to survive the streets once again, alone? Will she ever believe in love again? Or will she finally accept her life for what it is..being stuck in a never ending stage with no room for evolution, despite her perseverance.
