Identical twin mice sisters Daisie and Maisie like to mimic their girlfriends Willo the Armadillo, Baby the groundhog, foxie Josefa, and Anita and Mariana the two other armadillo pals. After Willo's All-Girl Mariachi Band won blue ribbons at the music contest, the twins decide they want blue ribbons too, because they had sneaked on stage to play maracas with the band.
On their way to find Willo, Daisie slides down the rope into the wishing well for a drink of water but does not return. She does not answer Maisie's calls to her either. Maisie then slides down the fraying rope to find her.
Willo and Baby find Maisie's bonnet near the well while they are playing Hide n' Seek and call out to the twins. When only echoes return, quick-thinking Willo sends Baby off to round up all their band friends for a rescue. Seeing the torn rope, Willo decides to make a daisy chain by linking their various tails into a rope to rescue the shivering twins.
