The Sakura Tree

Taylor is a young and adventurous Pit Bull. She is very unhappy about the reputation her breed carries and wishes to be more of a stereotypical "friendly" breed. She embarks on a journey where she experiences rejection, fear, and Hope. Her story embodies courage, disappointment, strength, and love. Her experiences correlate with societal norms and standards. Issues of what's acceptable and considered the ideal, privilege, and class are addressed. Taylor's life symbolically addresses these issues we face today as a society. The importance of having high self-esteem, loving yourself, and valuing your uniqueness...even if you don't fit into what's popular and acceptable. The Sakura represents a time of renewal and optimism. The pink flowers mark the end of winter and signify the beginning of spring. It also symbolizes the transience of life and hope. There are ten different types of Sakura trees. Each section of her evolution is named after a unique Sakura tree. Taylor experiences a renewal on her journey, which leads her on a path that embodies the transience of life and her greater purpose.
