Scalpel

Murder detective story about a surgeon-turned-serial killer when his wife (also a surgeon) is sued for malpractice and commits suicide. The seasoned detective gets close to catching the killer, but only realizes his identity when he becomes a patient and has to go under the knife. The murderous surgeon kills medical malpractice attorneys whose methods teeter on the edge of the law, and whose victims are physicians they unscrupulously seek out. It becomes a battle of wits and skill as the detective closes in just as the killer gets away one more time.
