Taylor Shaw is a farm girl turned crusading attorney. She is currently living in the Coachella Valley in California. She has been appointed to the U S Attorney's Office. As part of her training, she is required to spend time at an Indian reservation where she makes a connection with the Chief and his staff. Dave Roberts, a gangster, uses his food growing business as a cover for his real business, the business of selling drugs. When Taylor's involvement in an Indian water rights case threatens Roberts' food growing business, to slow her down, he kidnaps her daughter, Isabel Miller, and has her taken to his mountain compound where his drugs are also kept. In response to the kidnapping, rather than accepting assistance from the police and the FBI who she feels are not trustworthy, Taylor enlists the help of her Native American friends. Taylor and her friends raid the compound. Taylor is lowered down on a rope to the roof of the main building. She extricates Isabel, and she and Isabel make a daring escape on the back of a giant black stallion supplied by the Chief. Taylor's friends blow the rock walls of the compound blocking the exit. This allows Rick, Taylor's husband, and his honest law enforcement professionals the time necessary to arrest everyone involved, including Roberts.
