Turquoise Menagerie Syndrome

"Turquoise Menagerie Syndrome" shares the journey of Tom Stevens, a rookie cop from the rural Greenwood County Sheriff's Department in the newly formed State of Jefferson to becoming a patrol supervisor in the resort and convention epicenter in the state capitol. During this trek, Stevens is exposed to many characters and situations that change his life and views on the public he serves. Sprinkled along the way are the day-to-day cop stories of the men and women who swore a duty to be there when others wouldn't. Those who serve as first responders and are willing to give their lives for the job and the community they serve. From the 1970s through the 1990s, the "Turquoise Menagerie Syndrome" will demonstrate how law enforcement has changed from the old guard who got the job done the best way they knew how. Society has changed, yet when the public is in need and makes that phone call, they still want a uniformed officer at their front door pronto to resolve their issues and help them with their problems. American law enforcement has struggled, if not floundered, with Incident Command for the past fifty years. The turquoise menagerie often occurs simultaneously or right after the other causing an inadequate and ineffective response to critical incidents.
