The British recruited the 71st Regiment of Foot in the Scottish Highlands and sent the regiment to America in 1776. The regiment fought at Brooklyn, Brandywine, Savannah (twice), Brier Creek, Stono, Charleston, Camden, Charlotte, Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse and Yorktown.
