Grandpa's Bench is a heartwarming rhyming picture book about learning to cope with the loss of a grandparent or loved one. Jennie Jean's grandfather loved to have a picnic in the park! When he passes away, the family has a stone bench placed in the park with his name on it to celebrate his memory. Jennie Jean has to share the bench with others at the park and she is not happy about it, at first!
This is the first in a series of children's books for ages 3-7 that follow Jennie Jean, a precocious 6 year old. With the help of the Nonna, and some comic relief from Nonna's poodle named Appy and a playful squirrel, Jennie Jean learns a valuable lesson about family, grief and sharing.
