This is public education today: School structure is based on what adults in the school want rather than what students need. Curriculum and testing ignore developmental stages of ability. Documentation and Data Gathering are assigned greater value than Instruction. Teachers are hired and retained without regard to actual job performance. And no one in charge seems to care whether public education produces an educated populace.
Where did we go wrong? It started in 2001 with No Child Left Behind, a law that made paperwork more important than instruction. Everything that came after supports circular bureaucracy rather than substance.
CHAOS in our schools peels back the layers of subterfuge and offers a solution: a model school that recognizes merit and gives our children the best chance to be successful in life.
